Family Movie Nights
Mondays & Fridays

New this summer will be free Family Movie Nights on the beach at 27th Street every Monday and Friday starting June 30 and running through August 15 (excluding July 4). Bring the kids and enjoy a free Family Movie Night on Ocean City’s beautiful beach. Each Monday and Friday night from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m., families can gather for fun activities and a movie right on the beach. Activities organized by the Ocean City Recreation & Parks Dept., will include arts and crafts, games and sing-alongs for the first hour, with the movie starting at 8:45 p.m.
Family Beach Games
Tuesdays
July 1-Aug. 12
Another new free activity for 2008 will be Family Beach Games on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Also on the 27th St. beach, which is at the northern end of the Boardwalk, Family Beach Games offer such activities as sand castle contests, tug of war, relay games and more. Children must be accompanied by parents or guardians.
Sundaes in the Park
Each Sunday
July 13 through August 24
Spend Sunday evenings enjoying live music in the beautiful setting of Ocean City’s Northside Park, 127th Street and the bay. This family concert series is offered every Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. with free music ranging from country to rock. The evening also offers different children’s activities and entertainment. Create your own delicious ice cream sundae for a small fee, then sit back, listen to the music and watch the sun set over Assawoman Bay.
Monday evenings at Sunset Park
July 14 through August 25
Ocean City’s newest venue, Sunset Park, located on the bay in the downtown at S. Division Street, will be the scene this summer of free concerts plus two festivals, all on Monday evenings. Concerts will be held July 14, July 21, August 4, August 11 and August 18. Concerts begin at 8 p.m. Two festivals are being planned – Irish Festival Night on July 28 and Latin Festival Night on August 25. Festivals will feature music and food (fee charged for food and drink items). Festivals will run from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.
Free Beach Concerts
Wednesday evenings
July 9 through August 20
On Wednesday evenings from 8 to 9:30 p.m. enjoy free concerts right on the beach, just steps from Ocean City’s world-famous Boardwalk at North Division Street. The music varies from week to week.
Evening Bonfires
Each Thursday
July 10 through August 28
Each Thursday evening gather with friends and family around the bonfire on the beach at North Division Street. Each week features a different guest speaker. A great way to capture an ocean memory, make the evening bonfires a part of your Ocean City tradition. The bonfire hour is designed to be entertaining as well as informative.
Museum Programs
Mid July – August
Gather outside the Ocean City Life-Saving Station Museum at the south end of the Boardwalk for fun facts and topics. A different subject is discussed each Monday through Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Topics include beach safety, aquarium feeding, knot tying and all about sharks.
