RECREATION FACILITIES

For sports enthusiasts, the Ocean City Recreation and Parks Department operates a variety of activities to keep fit and have fun.

Tennis: Courts are located bayside at: 3rd St., 61st St., 94th St., and 136th St.
For more information, or to reserve a tennis court, call 410-524-8337 in season.
Racquetball: One 3-wall court, 136th St., Gorman Park, bayside.
Skate Park: 3rd St. & St. Louis Ave. Open year-round. Call 410-289-2695.
Basketball: Courts are located at 4th St. & St. Louis Ave; 94th St., bayside; 125th St., bayside (indoors).
Volleyball: Volleyball nets will be set up on the beach for summer. Open to everyone at no charge.
Nets are available at the Inlet, 2 nd St., 4th St., 7th St., 9th St. and 11th St.; and 8 courts at Dorchester Street.

DISABLED: Beach Access, Beach Wheelchairs:

Access to the beach for the physically challenged is provided at certain locations along the beach and is designated
by a blue sign on street entrances along Coastal Highway.

BEACH WHEELCHAIR

Beach wheelchairs are provided on the beach at certain locations by the Town of Ocean City from Memorial Day
through Labor Day, from 10 am to 5 pm daily. When using one of the beach wheelchairs, it must be used within
two blocks (one north and south) of where the chair is assigned and kept. Beach wheelchairs are available on a
first-come, first-serve basis from the attending beach patrol and must be returned by 5 p.m.

AIRPORTS

OceanCityAirport

Municipal Airport, 3 miles west of town, off Rt. 611 on Airport Road, West Ocean City. Private planes arrive/depart daily; Jet A and 100 LL fuel available at competitive prices. Car rentals, taxi service, airplane rides, skydiving and flight instruction available. Terminal building is open seven days a week, year round except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. Salisbury/Ocean City/RegionalAirport

The regional airport is located south of Route 50 approximately 30 minutes away from Ocean City, off Walston Switch Road, just east of Salisbury. US Airways offers regularly scheduled flights to and from Philadelphia and Charlotte. For US Airways reservations: 800-428-4322. Salisbury-Ocean City Regional Airport: 410-548-4827.

RECYCLE THE OCEAN CITY WAY

While enjoying your visit to Ocean City, please note our motto; "OCEAN CITY RECYCLES-BECAUSE WE CARE.” Please recycle your aluminum, glass, cardboard, paper, plastic and bi-metal can products. We have five recycling drop-off sites (with designated containers) conveniently located around town where you can recycle your commodities. They are open 24 hours a day. Glass products no longer have to be color-sorted. We also have a designated waste oil tank for your convenience, located under the water tower at 66th street and bayside. Even while relaxing on the beach, you can recycle your aluminum products. Just look for the bright green barrels. They are located adjacent to the head of each street. The Recycling Center at 65th Street also accepts newspaper, cardboard, office paper/computer paper, motor oil and used antifreeze. Ocean City also offers a bulk pickup program to its residents. For information call 510-524-0391. Ocean City offers curb-side and condo-side recycling to all residents of Ocean City. We also have a paper recycling program that is extended to all businesses.
